Retro Newbie
hi all, my names jack, from weardale (2 miles from hamsterley forest).been into my mtb,s for the 25 years and have had a fair classic ish bikes in my time.my daily ride is a handsome dog /ebay self build in a retro stylee.
im sorry to trouble you with difficult questions in my first post, hoping to be a more constructive member in future.
ive bought this bike, see. its been rescued from the dump for a small sum, there was something about it that caught my eye, its fairly light and it has a certain feeling of quality about it, but i have no clue what it is.
it looks a bit marin-y round the seat tube, but that would be pure guessing. it,s rolling mavics with ritchey force bars on an unknown stem and ritchey tyres. stx 21 speed gearset and a few alivio bits like the canti,s.
i have no clue tho, heres a few pics , hope you guys can help out, you seem like knowledgable bunch.
sorry about the poor quality fotos, its dark, im all exited and im sure you enjoy a challange.
as you can see its been helfully "resprayed" in fridge paint, and almost all original decals removed. they didnt bother with the stickers on the top tube near the seat stay, which read" sport series" with a big red S in the middle. original colour of the bike possibly purple.
and this is my daily
