Hi and a bit of a sad story.............

Unfortunately its the inconsistency of it all that really pisses me off. Most recycling centres have resale areas where you can still pick up a bargain. However there are some that do not allow any sales whatsoever and would rather be paid the 50p - £1 per bike than accept £20 - £30 in their hand. These bikes get containerised and sent of to Africa.

H&S laws are miss-interpreted leading to draconian measures when it comes to anything second hand. Technically anything with a lead is not allowed to be sold on, even speakers. This works against charity shop donations and allows for very high quality items to be sent to the crusher.

So called 'recycling' is a huge waste and in no way environmentally friendly or as green as it struts around pretending.

Unfortunately things are only going to get worse as more larger fully automated recycling centres appear - in these, you just huzz you stuff over a ledge and it gets processed out of sight.

And breathe!!! :D

Seriously though i 100% agree

I would have simply said " I'm taking this , is your job worth having a fight over a bit of rubbish ? now you can have a fiver or I can drop you in the dirt "

I like the cut of your jib.

Smack him! :D

Violence is sometimes the only way, although it was only an Orange!!
So maybe just a chinese burn or a wedgy;)

Just had a thought!

Do you think that 'stig of the dump bike napper' as we'll call him, would wear Hi-Viz Y-fronts? :?

deoends on the tip,

Some are happy for things to be taken from skips, others take things out themselves and resell, others if its in the skip then its in the landfill.

Its really down to which management company is running it.

best thing is to go, oh great my dad (who ever) threw this away this morning without telling me, i thought i had lost it forever. i believe that they then have to allow you to recover your goods.

Or claim it was stolen from your garage last night etc, but that you are recovering your goods.

Oh and alot of stuff that ends up is the old chestnut, you leave home, leave loads of stuff in your parenst garage for 10 years and they they decide to help you move out completely by doing a skip run.
