Help please - Aluminium GT serial numbers

I only had a few Sanfa serials recorded, so this helps add detail for those. Based on that, my current thinking is:
- SAS prefix used until they changed it to just S in 1998
- Followed by a similar system to Hodaka - next number is the year of production, then the letter is the month?
- If the letter does give the month (I haven't seen this confirmed/denied) then it seems Hodaka and Sanfa used different systems - e.g. Sanfa have some with the letter I but I think Hodaka skipped that

Some more Hodaka frame numbers would help confirm/disprove the month theory.

There are some that don't quite fit with that. This one:


Would suggest a 1997 model, since I would need to be later in the year, but as is suggested in the thread the colour of the decals suggests 1996 is more likely.

I should caveat all this by saying I know far less about the aluminium models than the steel and less about the later half of the 90s than the earlier half.
