Help please - Aluminium GT serial numbers

I only had a few Sanfa serials recorded, so this helps add detail for those. Based on that, my current thinking is:
- SAS prefix used until they changed it to just S in 1998
- Followed by a similar system to Hodaka - next number is the year of production, then the letter is the month?
- If the letter does give the month (I haven't seen this confirmed/denied) then it seems Hodaka and Sanfa used different systems - e.g. Sanfa have some with the letter I but I think Hodaka skipped that

Some more Hodaka frame numbers would help confirm/disprove the month theory.

There are some that don't quite fit with that. This one:

Would suggest a 1997 model, since I would need to be later in the year, but as is suggested in the thread the colour of the decals suggests 1996 is more likely.

I should caveat all this by saying I know far less about the aluminium models than the steel and less about the later half of the 90s than the earlier half.

Hi been reading your thread on GT steel frames as i have a couple and noticed this thread too.
This is more my thing as i have a few GT road bikes nothing newer than 2001 though lol
Happy to share S /N with you ,11 bikes all road bike style, and one pantera, and a pre triple triangle steely,
By name i have a rage, rave, strike, cxr ,cx edge , edge ,force , then zr 1000 to 4000 although they are mostly 2001 era the zr's.
If your interested in serial numbers happy to help. The 2 -3 steely frames i'll add to the steely frame thread. Lol
Gary.

I'm happy to start including road frames too! I'm assuming they will follow the same format and more data is always helpful!

Ok here goes my rage bike s/n S K 6 i 07311 bought in the USA while on holiday. Lol
GT force - S 8 H 6 178??
GT strike - S 8 L K 00638
My GT edge CX 99 X 019

I will get some more later, hope this helps you out.

Just noticed the GT edge CX bike s/n is 99 X019
Not cx99 as looks in top first post , the cx is cyclocross and the cables run on the top of frames so you can carry the bike on shoulders if need be , so genuine CX bike 1000004813.jpg 1000004812.jpg

Do you have confirmed years for any of them? And is that serial for the Rage exactly as it appears, as it's unusual with an SK start and a lowercase i.
