I think with 26" bikes are lighter, also with cantis / V's and not DISCI know. The point I'm trying to make is with frames that weight 775g you aren't going to build the lightest mtb with a 26 inch wheeled bike.
Looks good, but with a carbon fiber frame, it will be look better a carbon fiber forkMagmaa Ti 26" canti fork at 570g actual. I sold these back in 2013, which I regret.

sub 5KgInteresting project. I like the ideas and options people come up with in the search for lightness, looking forward to seeing more.
What is the target by the way, the bike you are aiming to best?
IMO the deciding factor is the frame. If goodyes decides on a 1998 or later frame, this topic will move to that section. Also have any of these parts been retro 1997- yet, if not get it out of here in into the modern claptrap or off topic.
Oh my Yeeesasss !!, ok dont care bout me.. move onIMO the deciding factor is the frame. If goodyes decides on a 1998 or later frame, this topic will move to that section.
Seeing as the topic is merely about planning and researching and not actually showing a bike, or a build in progress, for now I'm moving it from Reader's MTBs to Retro MTB Chat.
