Heavy Tools evolving...

Now my kid is getting big enuff to use the Heavy Tools I bought him last year.
Even though it´s a flatland I put tires with some knobs on them
I also fixed the brake so it´s usable, and it works real well now!

Here we are at a dirt track, having a great time

We´re not at this level yet though

looking cool there and a sweet ride :twisted:

but get them bars forward - in line with the forks - let him learn the right turning circle and the right point at which it works best - he will ride better for it

But the bars have to be where they are, he can´t reach the brake otherwise.

the brake can move up round and the bars a bit more foward - give it a try and if he can't then maybe lower/samller bars will help

it's how it rides that will get him better and avoid accidents due to steering

I got the seat forward a couple of cm´s.
I pitched the bars forward a similar amount and it made a big difference.

I tried it out and it was a lot better riding it.
We´ll try it out tomorrow.

If the bars are too far foward it will give the feeling of a shopping trolly - it hunts where to go instead of you feeling it

too far back and there is a lack of what is going on till it's too late

when the bars are more in line with the forks you get a true feeling of what the tire feels and at the same time you can react to it

different frames have different head angles and so will feel different to ride, but get the right line and they should ride better and feel more dialed in

get him to test it out - line the side look of the bars to be in line with the forks - it can even be a slight bit more forward - but back is not great

Yeah, the headtube is really steep!
I´ve lined it up just shy of that angle and it seems to work fine
I adjusted the seat for my kid and it went really well.

well worth geting a 24" and then you will both get the same feeling of riding some thing solid and not all soft and lazy like a MTB

there are a loads of frames around - there are some that lean towards MTB styles and some that are big version of a BMX - i would lean towards the bmx style myself

once you get a frame there are loads of parts you build it up with :twisted:
