Hayes cable operated hydraulic disc brakes?

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any info in these brakes really

Am due to get a bike from a workmate which has this type of brake on the front & I'm clueless about them.

Can't find any info in the net & just wondering if they are worth bothering with

Think they are from 1997.

Have got a picture but on my phone & will upload once I can log into photo bucket.

I have vague memories of these using a hydaulic caliper that is actuated using a cable... therefore using a conventional cable lever

There were (are?) a few cable actuated hydraulic disc brakes out there - the RockShox/AMP design for example. Hayes and RST both had models in the late '90s.

Yeah just getting a Gary Fisher Level Betty from a workmate and has one of these brakes on the front

Yet to test it yet but I just thought I'd never seen anything like it before
