Hands up who owns too many Bikes

well we all know the formula:

The number of bikies you should have = n+1, where n = the number you currently have.

Surely too many is a relative term, like 'too many shoes' or 'too many choices'

I, for one, consider too many to be the point at which you can no longer set foot in the garage without first removing a bike or two :D Ooops, just tripped over another one.

At the very least you need one for every day of the week, plus a spare should one of the 7 have a puncture. Then there's the all-day rig, the wet weather bike, the pub bike, the race bike…

I laughed at this one because it's too true. Unfortunately my wet weather bike is in pieces to go to the powder-coaters. I was a bit optimistic stripping it down considering the weather we've been having recently.
I suppose I could use my long distance tourer, or my short tourer, or my slightly too nice to be a hack-bike, or my.....

Another problem is that my so called hack bike always ends up getting upgraded with period correct parts and then polished up to the point were it gets a bit too nice to pop down on the shops with or even bike to work.

So along comes another...

Well, I found this site around 18 months ago and this is now the spare room in my pretty small flat...

I've also got a Cannondale M400 that I keep in Germany and have bought an amazing Miyata Elevation 5000 as last years xmas pressie for my Dad!

My mates think I have issues

I am a Retrobikeaholic, symptoms greatly increasing since joining this site

I picked up a '96 Diamondback Axis and '97 Trek 970 in April  (hides in back of garage hoping other half doesn't notice).

These fit in one small bump-out in my basement and there's three more area's in the basement packed just as tight with others. Some people are into old cars and have a couple they drive a hundred miles each a year. They pay insurance, license and storage fees on them. You just need to put the numbers and value into perspective with other peoples hot buttons.
