GT Zaskar re-issue MBUK 20th anniversary

Silly question perhaps, but why didn't it get speked with a black rigid fork like the original? or at any rate a gold painted fork like a Mag 21?

Rebas may be nice forks but painted yellow just makes them look like the thousands of wannabe Judy SL forks that came out on K-mart bikes in the late 90s and early '00s.

The Manitou 1 painted R7 on that Tomac DB10 on our homepage - now I think that looked ok.

I have two in the basement and I was thinking of this for a build up.....u-brake.... and guys from germany said it was an all disc frame and it's not. There's bosses on this frame but v-bosses but there are a couple mounting plates that would allow you to put a u-brake on it. I'm thinking of cutting the gay disc tabs off in fact. I think that ruins the whole re-issue theme. I agree rigid is the way to go and I've got a dozen NOS Bologna lite forks but I'm also intrigued by that Exotic rigid carbon fork. Problem with the old forks is they are 395-405 and you really need a 435-440 axle to crown for it to feel right.
Winter projects...can't wait.

I won a bike in a competition and sold it on Ebay

Slight difference though, didn't enter the draw knowlingly (my ticket number was drawn out) and it was for a roadbike which I have never wanted or owned.

A bike like that deserves to go to a good home where someone will appreciate it for what it is.

If I had won it and it was too small I would have kept and treasured it - I'm not one for garage queens by any means but this is a keeper...
