GT RTS1 restoration

After years of my GT in pieces in my parents garage i decided to bite the bullet and give the restoration a go.
Originally brought the frame from new in 1993 when i was 17 years old and anodised purple was the rage.
The rear triangle has be painted black as original and couldn't resist adding a bit more purple.
I lost the original rear brake shim so i had to get creative.

That looks great. I'm a big fan of the RTS, have a team which I bought as a nos frame about 15 years ago. I'd never part with it.

I've also got another which I've had professionally converted to disc which I must build up one day.

Wow. That looks lovely. As much as I hated 3dv back in the day, I absolutely love it now. Was the rear brake roller an early model thing, as it looks like an absolute bastard to set up (probably no worse than the rocker that followed it)

Reminds me I have an RTS frame gathering dust that probably needs a new home!

Lovely looking RTS there's just something about a GT RTS they look so perfect. It's an itch i must scratch one day.

The World Champion decals appeared on the 93 model year RTS-1's and RTS frames after Furtado won the 92 World Championships. There were frame only's sold as just "RTS" in the tech shop dealer program.
My frame originally had the RTS1 decals they were removed years back.

That's a great build, really captures the right look. Hopefully mine will turn out the same
