Yes, and that actually feel a lot more solid than they look... when I get around to starting work on Y-Trek and eventually fit them I’ll add a link here.

So what year/date did the top Gripshift model change from SRT500 to X-Ray 800 ?

Was it late 1994 going into 1995 ?

These advert photos are all from a ‘1994 midsummer MBUK’ edition. The highest model I can find in any advert is the SRT500 in either 7or8 speed. But I know x-ray800 was available going into 1995.

The SRT500R became the SRT600 in 95
X-ray released dame year.

I would assume, as with any and most MTB stuff, it would follow academic years*, so you would see 1995 models emerging about Sept 94 onwards ready for Christmas and the new year.

* (UK at least, no idea how other countries split their school years up)

The same supplier adverts the following year in ‘MBUK March 1995’ edition:

So safe to say SRT500 was top of the range as at May 1994 ?

I have no idea on the gripshifts, but am I right in thinking that in the pink 94 advert, Mavic thumbies and rear mech cost less than even just LX rapidfire shifters on their own? o_O

Yes they were bottom of the range. If only we had all bought a stash.

I luv flicking through the old advert prices. In general I find most stuff is worth the same today as it was new, so only took 25 years to come back up in price. But a few select items have gone 1000%
