gripshift probs

any reason why a 7 speed 600 gripshift wont work with my lx 7 speed rear mech , seems to shift 3 gears at a time ????

cable stucked under the BB ?

Did you loop it around the inner column?

top routed , clicks fine and all the cable is in the right place , just when it clicks it moves at least 3 gears , as i get 2 clicks and wont go a third as its fully across the cassette ??

are you using the front changer with the rear mech????May be the internal drums have been mixed up?

nope front shifts fine , and it definately has 7 notches inside

Are you sure the cable has made a loop around the column? The problem you describe sounds a lot like you haven't.

sure its a 600? Possibly it could be an esp shifter?
I have also been fooled in the past into buying a pair of shifters which both turned out to be for the front mech, some of the front shifters are not indexed and so have 7-8 clicks. A code on the side can reveal this.

marked as 600 , only other marking is the "G" logo and the word "sealed"

and NOS so no damage

just tried them again and still 3 clicks and they are max tension and wont go any further but the mech is into the spokes
