German race bike - Nöll M5 from 1993

Hello,

have collected mostly US-classic-bikes for almost 35 years (KLEIN, Fat Chance, Salsa, Serotta, ...) - now it should be a german race bike.

Found it last year; completely diamantled it and then rebuilt it according to my wishes.

The overall result here with photos, data and test results from german bike magazines.

Frame material: Mannesmann 34 CrMo 4 (high-strength precision tubes)
Frame builder: Achim Nöll / Fulda in Germany

Frame size: 490 mm (c-t)
Top tube length: 583 mm (c-c)
Frame weight: 2.150 gr.
Fork weight: 805 gr.
Headset: 1 1/8"
Seat post diameter: 30,0 mm
Front derailleur clamp: 31,8 mm

The frame is fillet brazed. Only with sleeves in the bottom bracket area for stability reasons.
Lots of pipe openings so that water can drain away.
No dropout eyelets; chainsuck device.

I love a Nöll and that’s a beauty. Shame we don’t see more of them here
 
Fantastic frame, and I like the fairly understated build - it's hard not to go overboard with the shiny colours, but this lets the frame stand out. The rear brake bridge acting as a canti cable guide is a nice touch. Nice :)
