yep - this one is mine - picked it up last year.
I'm liquidatng pretty much my entire collection, which includes this FUNK
I've got another thread with the details of all the stuff to come...
It is a pretty rad bike, the paint is better in person (I'd still rather have it in that glossy metallic purple or maroon that they did...)
Cheers!
Braden

Hi Braden,

Sorry, you've had to liquidate. It will be an undertaking for sure, and ebay might be your best bet. If you make a sales thread in the For Sale forum, and attach the price your seeking to the parts, you can find sales on here to be good, as well. Please only post auctions you have already began, or ads you have placed elsewhere, as otherwise it might get messy for you, and members, alike. Best of luck to you with the sales and other things you are going through.

After you have made a bunch of completed transactions, apply for the gold trader label, and also open a feedback thread, you can link on your sig, to encourage buyer confidence, and possibly increase your sales. Though, many of your items look capable of selling themselves.

So, what's the deal with the bottom bracket? I noticed you mention nothing about it in your auction description? :?

More info on this bike: I just remembered that I had emailed the seller about the BB last year, so I searched thru my emails and discovered that, although it's definitely the same bike, it's a different seller, so I guess it DID sell after all.

I'd buy it if I could afford it (but I'd want to repaint it. Shocking, I know).

I got a second chance offer for this bike last year from the original seller. A good price, I just wasn't crazy about the paint. Still, original rigid forks, hard to come by. I also needed a larger frame. My patience paid off, but don't come up for sale too often.

I have to say that I am a bit surprised that the seller hasn't responded. He surely came out of the gate strong - but, when it comes down to the hard questions.... nothing. :(

I cross threaded the bottom bracket on my Specialized M2 back in 92. Right out of the box too. I am just guessing as to why you can't remove the bottom bracket.

The seller seems to be having a lot going on in his life, and with the best intentions to sell such a massive lot, things might go awry, and get messy. Plus, his track record, here and on ebay, is not well established, under the names being used. He appears to be an excellent buyer, and might very well be a great seller, but that remains to be seen.

messy indeed

yes - and a little slow to respond, too -- sorry.

I dropped the bike over at R&A Cyscles in Brooklyn today to have them yank the BB -- the first thing they noticed is that the threads inside the drive side crank arm where you would isntall the crank extractor (not the BB) were stripped -- making removing the crank quite a bit tougher (but not impossible).

I'm speculating that this was the reason the previous owner indicated the BB couldn't be removed.

Either way, they will do this tomorrow to get at the BB's fixed cup (also on the drive side). My guess is that once the crank is off, the BB will come out without too much difficulty.

I'll update the ebay listing and add pictures to the picassa album either way (hopefully with the BB out...)

Regards,
Braden
