Funk Fork Options?

Hi all,

Getting hold of a rigid Funk fork is looking nigh on an impossibility if I ever want to build up the bike and use it..... So.... My initial thought is to get something modern as a 'make do' for now but I thought I'd throw it out and ask what would people here choose as an alternative option?
The frame is a 1 1/4 headset but I'm not to bothered if I have to get something like a Devolution headset to make a 1 1/8th fork fit. A Klein Strata has been mentioned and a good call although could be pricey and a long wait also?

Frame is going to be resprayed and whatever the fork choice is (if even just a make do) that will also be sprayed at the same time.

My only thought is that I want something relatively chunky to match the looks of the frame.

Any ideas or thoughts greatfully received.

I'd go for a cannondale fork, as are chunky, right size headset and come up fairly frequently at reasonable prices.

You could see what a Pace RC30 (first generation) looks like. The cannondale fork will probably suit the frame but sometimes its nice to try something different.

Been there done that. I looked for a rigid Funk fork for about a year before buying another frame that had a fork on it!
Looked into the other options as you are doing......the problem is you need somthing really fat or it will look way out of balance.

I do have a cheap fat "Big Fork" as backup if you are interested.

Thanks for the suggestions so far chaps ... I did mean to ask originally if going rigid is there a specific measuremnt I should be aiming for on the fork length to keep the geometry correctish?

I have a headshock still in the loft from my Raven build so wonder if I could utilise that? (or are the steerers bigger on headshoks?... I can't picture it this early lol)?

I have spied a coupke of RC30's on Ebay yesterday funnily enough and saved them. Also found a chunky modern option as well so reckon I've got a few potentials.
