Friday night is nightride night!

Re:

Is it gonnae be a "night" ride or dae ye fancy gettin there earlier, 6.30-7ish mibbees, so that we can get a couple of hours in afore it gets dark, sunset is 8.24pm, but it'll no be dark dark till about 9ish.

Was in there this evening doing some work to the exit of East Boundary up from Triangle. Took ma wheelbarrie to move some of the hardcore from t-junction just up from Totem Pole. Filled in some of the wet bits with bigger rocks then hardcore on top. Didnae get it finished as the 'barrie got a puncture FFS. Should get it finished the morra though.

6.30-7ish would be target mate, i forgot i am up in inverness the morra but should be in house for 6 i reckon so should make it.

if i'm struggling will text ye the morra.

Naaah I doubt it but dont be shocked if I turn up, BTW I dont have lights any more so thats another reason (hopefully I wont need them)

Re:

I can bring lights for you, Rob. Mind you it was still quite light at half 8 tonight as I finished off the trail maintenance, so unless we are still riding at 9 it should be OK.

Thought it would be a piece of pish to fix the flat tyre on barrie, just take the tube out and patch it. Wrong. The tyre is tubeless and when I pumped it up and put it in a tub of water there were dozens of wee holes in the tyre tread, perished tae feck. Ebay seemed to be only option for tube but I needed it today, builders merchants no help, could have got new wheel for £12 odds at Screwfix but couldnae be ersed going there  . Halfrauds was useless when I tried to find tyre sealant on their site, all it kept coming up with was stuff for tubeless MTB tyres, feckin expensive.

So decided to make my own tubeless sealant as I had nothing to loose but time. Had a gallon container of PVA glue in shed so mixed some up with water to get it a wee bit runny, then needed to add something to it instead of the wee rubber particles, which I had none of  , surprise, surprise, that would block the leaks. Thought flour would do the same job, so added some self-raising flour  to mixture. Took out valve core and used a big syringe, that I normally use to bleed the brakes on the bike, to skoosh it in. Had no expectations that it would actually work, but it feckin did  .
El cheapo tyre seal, no leaks at all.
