Friday night is nightride night!

Re:

Nope, it's got 6 pins that engage in the holes in the internal cups. It's an auld Hope titanium BB from around 20 years ago.

Might try drilling 6 holes accurately in a length of flat bar and fitting 6 wee bolts and nuts with hole in middle.

6 o'clock means it's no dark, whit aboot us doggers?

Re:

I've lights ye could borrow, I've got a few.

Will check them all out this week.

Edit. Ya cheeky bastirt, they're perfectly good square taper BBs. They'll no be getting thrown away, they were £90 back then, FFS.

thinking about 6pm OCP, are you in Rob?

Well kinda ................... my usual problem 'lights' or lack of
Count me in. Car's in the garage on Friday, but shouldn't be a problem. Rob, I've got a spare light an' aw if OCP's Davey lamp isnae bright enough.

OCP - The park tool might still work on the BB if you can put it in a breaker bar and get lots of leverage? Managed to do this with mine and eventually get an old 80's Specialized BB loose that hadn't moved in nearly 30 years.

Re:

ZZ, it's one like this, the green Park tool,

Stopped trying when it became obvious I was going to do damage to MY BB.
Will try again with a length of tube over tool.

nice one ZZ

Rob I'll also bring my spare light

got the same BB OCP, never had an issue removing it out with a basic pin tool, but I've never had to glue it in. good luck wi that fella

That's the one John, same as mine. Once I was using the breaker bar, biggest problem I had was the pins jumping out of the holes because I was putting a lot more force through it. Got there in the end - was convinced I was going to snap the spanner, but then the bar was stopping the arms of the spanner from bending too much.

Re:

tempted but thinking a night ride is not best idea for first time back in the saddle lol.
