Frame for first build

Does anyone have a decent frame for my first build? I think a Kona would work well as its for my wife and the geometry might suit her but I'll consider anything by a quality maker.

Probably looking at a small frame. Wife is 5' 9" tall and slim build.

Budget is a bit tight atm so no Yeti's please, Im still waiting to afford one of those even though my pocket money has increased since 1993...(not by much!)

Im a bit concerned that alloy frames tend to crack and/or oxidise, is this mostly true or does it depend on how well kept it was?

Cheers guys/girls.

hi i have a 17" tange double butted cromo saracen trekker elite frame currently for sale for £30 posted and it is in pretty good condition. i will soon be selling one of the following - 1997 kona fire mountain frame 16 inch or a 1993 cinder cone in the same size. just waiting on collection of the cinder cone before i decide what to do. i will be looking for more money for the konas though.

A Kona would be nice, if its too long for the wife, I can keep it for myself. If its the frame in your sig then it would be perfect for the Mrs.

Have to say I've never been much of a Saracen fan since they started selling them in Halfords next to Apollo's. *shudder* I'll decline that one.

Nice job on that Kona project btw.

Cheers,

Martin
