always the bridesmaid :(

let me know how the chainsuck works out up close. If you don't get on with it and/or decide to sell any ANY point in the future, please please please get in touch with me, i'll have it straight away.
Honestly been looking for one for 18 months in that size.

I'll send you a PM to save my details?

Man I'm sorry, really!

I too have been looking for an 853 for some time, to replace my rim brake only and slightly too small Kili Comp which I loved so much, my fav ever bike I think!

Obviously it will be yours if I change my mind, and any build tips would be appreciated... I have an 80-115mm Reba U-Turn which should prove handy!

Regards,
Al

ps - now just waiting to hear back from cooie ;)

Thanks, i'd really appreciate first refusal - even if thats 5 years time!

Your 115mm fork will be really good on it, I run 120mm but I'm convinced that the steering would be sharper on 100mm (after testing the Soul on 120's and it turning in much better).
I made a typo in my post above, the Inbred is actually longer than the soul, well, my SS one is at least.

If you havent tried yet, set it up as 1x9 speed and shave a few grams off. It'll take a 2.4" tyre, I find it handles well on wide tyres. Not as sharp to turn in as it could be, run the shortest stem you can get away with to help this, not so easy at 6'3" I guess!
Im running 60mm, but would happily go down to 50mm. Took me a while to get my head round short stems having ridden 'retro' style for so long, but it really helps turning in and control.

going for the 853 Inbred... will be powdercoated to suit EDIT contrast nicely with EDIT my gold Hope hubs

pics coming soon! ;)

Thanks for all your help & advice as ever,
Al :D

don't powdercoat! i'll never get the stuff back off... :? :)

plus, on steel frames rust under the powdercoat can cause issues, ive heard.

my blasters are really quite good, I've never had an issue!

pretty sure the p/coat will come off if in future you were were to use a good blasters too, and decal kits are readily available

Rust under powdercoat? If blasted first it will be the same as from new. No issues. Looking forward to seeing this built up.
