Flite saddles - are they the 'law'?

ededwards......to answer your question.....i think on bikes like DH bikes or something like that....a flite looks out of place.

aside from that.......it's a timeless design. it was sad to hear they don't make them anymore.....but i've begun to hoard them too.

the basic version, single color with titanium rails has got the all business look to it. i love that.

maybe they will bring it back.

personally, i've had one since about 95. it's such a perfect shape. long rides, short rides......it's perfect for me.

They try to bring everything back eventually. But it won't be the same. Some beaurocrat will deem the original one unsafe (or whatever) so they will dumb it down in some way.

I find Flites lovely to look at, the old bird in flight profile, excellent build quality and very light. BUT. My arse does not like them at all, I find them too hard to sit on for long rides.

What do your neighbours say when you put on your enforcer gear and run around the back garden ?

(Rolls fan here BTW!)

No! They are laws, and you'd better believe it.

Admittedly the enforcement side is a bit rubbish....................

Hey!! That's not me!! No way I'd dress as that bastardisation that was the film Dredd............naw, proper old school as drawn by MacMahon or Ezquerra, me!!

I reckon Flites are the comfiest saddles I've ever used. (Maybe I'm a Masochist?)

At the moment I have precisely.....none of them!

Flites, are they the Law? errr...yes, for me anyway.......

I've just fitted one to my modern full bounce sofa thing because the 'Body Geometry' saddle it came with sure doesn't fit my body, cramp in the arse after a couple of hours riding is no good for me!!

oddly the only time I've ever suffered penile numbness was using a gel saddle that was meant to prevent such things  needless to say a Flite replaced that one immediately.......

......too much information?

I'll get my coat.......

In most case the flite is the saddle to go for as they look right on most XC builds.

However there are some builds were I prefer to see a SLR in place (post 96/97?), as they just look racier.

I also prefer to sit on a SLR saddle over the flite, and will spec them if i can find in suitable colours.

I have a variation on 7 bikes. I love em, i've tried to like many other saddles but nothing else really holds a candle to them.
