Flite saddles - are they the 'law'?

Not got one on any of mine, Selle Italia Turbo all the way for me...! Never even tried a Flite though, maybe I should...

Does this make me an infidel?! :LOL:
 
I've used them for years, since 1990 I'd say. They have, IMHO, the advantage of comfort and light weight. One other issue with regard to vintage builds is that you can get a saddle from 1990 or 2008 and since they are unchanged, it will go well with a period correct build.

I know that they have newer models out, gel, max (for you fatties :)), etc, but if you're just getting the basic model in either Ti or steel rails with plastic shell, it's mostly the same.

I remember when I ordered my 1993 Kona Kilauea I specified that the crap Kona saddle was replace with a Flite. Have had them on all my bikes since, both modern and retro. I find them comfy enough, but as I have always ridden them I dont really have anything to compare them against!
