[First Build] Kona Cinder Cone Technical Advice

Hello everyone,
Ive been reading about retro bikes very much in the past months and decided to finally build my own. After some looking i found a (1997 or 1998 i think) Kona Cinder Cone for cheap. Im planning to to a complete repaint and fit it with modern Parts (slightly controversal i know). Here is the bike as its now:

Although i figured out most of my questions i still have a few regarding the bottom bracket and cranks.

So the BB is a BSA and the frame measures 68mm in width. I want to fit a Shimano XT Hollowtech II BB-MT800 and the Shimano DEORE FC-M5100-1 Crankset. Will this work out? The axle from the cranks should fit (24mm diameter) but im concerned about the length of the axle.

Maybe someone can help me with this

The new BB is external so the extra length with the new cranks is nothing to worry about.
