Finally got my lawwill leaders back from Mert himself - yay

Did a swap deal a long time ago it seems now, and knew from the pics that whilst the forks looked in fine fettle, the shock shaft was not very well as the nitride coating was flaking off - despite this the Risse shock still held air.

Anyhow, I realised that I couldn't live with the pain of having damaged nitride, so after some googling I found Mert Lawwill's website and sent out a tentative 'help me oh mighty retro fork guru (and ace motorbike rider/stuntman as it happens)', and to my surprise, I got a response. A few emails later I posted off my shock to the states and a long time passed, interspersed with the occastional email from Mert updating me on progress.

Then one day, good news, Mert had replaced the shock shaft, re-fuelled the shock with fresh oil and air, and it was on it's way back to me.

Aside from the extortionate VAT I had to pay on the repair (perhaps someone could explain to me why I had to pay this, as I'm struggling to comprehend why, aside from the fact that our economy is so bad, anything coming from outside of the EU is targetted for as much as it can be), I'm well chuffed with the repair, and I also got a bunch of bushings and some lawwill concepts decals thrown in.

All I need to do now is mate the shock with the rest of the fork and then it is the tough decision as to what to fit it to in mu current stable:

- Mongoose Amplifier
- Polished AMP B3 (though I won't be able to run the discs I have)
- Tequila Sunrise Korakoram (though cantis won't work, will probably need maguras)
- My old carbon cadex - I'm seeking inspiration for this build.

Anyone able to offer any advice on how to set up these forks - new to me, but damn fine looking and need to be ridden I think.

Nice score on the Lawwill decals! Perhaps you could share some images? I'm a Leader owner also, mine has no decals (kind of like it that way). I bet it'd look sweet on an Amp..
