Yes, I cycled to work!
Started a new job last week quite close to home one of the main draws being the possibility of riding in. So I thought I should drive in for the first week before cycling in, it felt great! :D
I chose to use my WDS Dawes for this momentous moment as i've owned it from new. I was thinking on the way in that when I got the bike 16years ago I never could have imagined i'd be cycling to work on it in 2010!

Don't worry - a nice warm bath, some Savlon cream and your cherry will soon be back to normal! ;)

BTW, well done!

best way to get in. very cheap, you get fitter, you get to ride your bike more often, you get to buy a new bike with a justified reason, you get to try all sorts of different routes, get hold of a local map and try to get to work without riding on the road, chase cars, swear at white vans, get knocked off, get cold, get hot, get wet, get 4 weeks off work with a broken ankle, ride onto the back of a low loader and hop off the side, hear everyone at work saying 'i couldn't do it', fill your car less often, buy less car tyres, buy more bike tyres, drive your car for fun not cos you have to, get better at riding your bike, get better at riding your missus, get better at anything sporty (except running), be happier, meet knew people, smile at pretty ladies every day, get to work quicker, get home slower, miss riding to work if you have to drive, have more time to just think, never have to pop to the shop after work for groceries, eat more.........

I'd like to ride to work seeing as I only live 4 miles away........

.......but nature of my job is I'm in and out all day so need the car

Wow! Those where the days! Who remembers the winter of '84? By the time I got to work (a 6 mile uphill slog to Rumbelows R.I.P) I would have to have a large coffee just to defrost my moustach! But boy, it was one hell of a ride home after work

Cycle to work everyday unless it's pouring with rain in the morning. It probably accounts for about 90% of my cycling as I have young children and don't get out much.

It's four miles each way by road or seven by canal towpath. Nearly all downhill there so I arrive at work fresh, uphill back so I arrive home a sweating mess.

Nearly as quick as the car with the rush hour traffic. Would recommend it to anyone ;) .

gotta love that WDS link m8
