Freak...

;)

P.S. Merlin Boy's Slinger is the shiz! Love it!

And we continue.

To clarify one point, although the BoTM vote takes place in 'Retro MTB' chat for convenience with it being the most popular forum (For Sale excepted  ) it is intended to cover everything on the site. Retrobike is dedicated to everything retro - be it road, mtb, bmx, cyclocross, penny farthings, bone shakers, whatever. As such entries from the road and bmx forums are welcome :D

I think a lot of the bikes this run are rather lack luster and/or not really that retro.

Road bikes...none of these things will get my vote.

Ok, so its your opinion, but how can you say a bike from the late 80's/early 90's isn't retro?? :?

And saying you won't vote for a road bike? I thought this site was about retro bikes, not retro MTB's!!

you cannot be picky with this! they are all nice bikes and as a matter of fact the lobo is my favourite, water bottle or no water bottle. anyway if he took it off next thing you would be telling us he is using irc tires instead of michelen ones. who cares! if the owner likes the bike and is happy with the spec then each to thier own. if you like it then vote, if not then dont. i personally think it all gets a bit silly at times.

Spot on

The P20 does it for me. I'm thinking of getting something similar soon. Classic skinny steel and frame design is what I like.

Even the "craziest" downhillers use water bottles :) =>

You could actually ride Greg's bike in that picture. Personally I wouldn't want to ride that Lobo to the mailbox. But thats all that is, my stupid opinion. Like ER says, call me an a-hole or whatever. I hate downhill bikes. Downhilling ruined the sport on various levels. I'd love to debate this. But this is a BOTM discussion, lets keep it as such.

[adult hat on] Look if downhill's your thing, then cool. And if you took the time to actually "source" parts from 1999 to build a Dh rig from that time period then sweet. But its not retro. I would go as far as to use the term "blast from the past."

On another note, some of the road bikes here I certainly thing have a place in BOTM. Ones that come to mind are John's Motorola replica and that unbelievable Colnago (i forget the owner). So hot right now.

I'm going riding. Uphill.

You can ride that bike! I swear I can pedal that Lobo twice as fast to the top than an average Scalpel rider :)
