Retro Newbie
just changed the bottom bracket ,chainring and new chain its all 9 speed. also been converted to 1x9 .
also the back wheel has a slight buckle in it would this effect the gear changes :?

Re:

a wobble in the back wheel shouldn't affect your gear changing.

have you checked your chainline? does the new bottom bracket have the same length axle as the old one?

personally if you're replacing the rest of the drivetrain then I'd replace the cassette too, a new chain on a worn cassette can make the chain slip or jump about.

I use a chain wear indicator now, cost a fiver and tells me when it's time to change chains, rather than running them into the ground and having to replace the cassette at the same time.

Re:

bottom bracket is exactly the same as the old one . the chain does move around on the old cassette
suppose its hand in pocket time again

It's a false economy in that it'll cause all the new, unworn parts to wear much faster.

Re:

Ordered a new cassette from chain reaction this morning. Rode the bike today it does skip
Around the gears a bit hopefully this will sort it out
