Huge changes in my life now mean I need to find a new home for this bike, it has to go and I'm willing to look at part exchange but I'm needing £1000 cash regardless and I'm picky on stuff
So, the time has come to pass this bike on.
1976 period Clunker Hybrid built up around 1937 Schwinn Excelsior frame, The frame of choice bitd due to the higher b/b, using as many period correct and available parts as possible.
The frame was imported from the Bay Area Cali. and found to have been Clunk'd in the past, the stays had been spread to fit a 5spd Atom brake drum.
Chrome Arya steel wheels laced with motorcycle spokes;
Atom tandem 5spd rear drum brake.
Sturmey Archer front drum brake ( early 80's stamped but design hasn't changed since 1940's).
Dia-Compe levers
Grab -On period grips
Suntour thumbies
Chrome 26" BMX forks, Crank bros?
Ashtabula stem
Moto bars
TA chainset and cranks with VP bear traps
Suntour V-GT rear mech
Suntour ARX front
Solid billet seat post, slightly bent as they tended to.
Brooks saddle
Plain simple tyres as I've never found rideable Uniroyal knobblies
I have ridden this bike so she's not in immaculate showroom condition but not abused
Rear Drum needs re lining
The bottom bracket bearing is a sealed unit in adapter cups simply because the old style/size bearing is nigh on impossible to find.
