went out for a doggie walk this morning as usual and my neighbour is emigrating to spain..hes a music man and hes flogging everything he has ...so i got this from him...i suppose i could do with learning how to play...

Nice. A good mid range guitar of the g'n'r ilk. I have a burgundy epi LP studio amongst others. They play nicely. Did he give you and amp that goes up to 11?

i didnt have enough cash sadly..the other half thinks i should sell it to make a profit but havent a clue what it could go for.

stick 'epiphone les paul standard' into ebay and watch a few auctions to see what the going rate is.

no amp sadly ..iv had to save cash for a car today but walking past this guys house he had the bass hanging up and the music studio he had the epiphone...after a tad of haggling i got it ...

Unusual, anyway... I bet it sounds OK, though the looks are not really to my taste. There's one for sale here for £250... http://www.strungoutguitars.com/Electric/

Can you play either, or were they bought "just because?" A dirt cheap headphone amp would get you going in the meantime (not sure how well it'd work with the bass mind you.) I normally just use a Korg Pandora I've had for at least 15 years along with some decent headphones and it sounds pretty good, also avoids waking the family and annoying the neighbours!
