I've just taken delivery of a set of SX Ti Manitous for a good price. However both seals are not leaking a bit, they are pissing oil out, so much so it's left deposits on the inside of the box and packing material used.

This was not mentioned in the description, nor did the photos of the stanchions give any indication there was a problem.

I'm within my rights to return these, right?

Re:

Did the ad state they were leaking at all? If not then definitely. If so, then it’s just a discussion with the seller, who may perhaps offer a bit of money back.

I’ve got a set of leaking forks to send off for service, and as I know they are leaking, I intend to drain the oil before packing.

Re:

In short yes. Contact the seller first and see what they say before opening a dispute. No idea how easy parts are to come by for the forks so you might be better off sending them back and buying fault free forks if you paid good money for them.

Re:

Was EBay yes. I wrote to the seller before posting this thread, making a number of the points mentioned above.

Such as : not mentioned in description , photos don't show a problem, listed as used not parts / spares repair etc.
I've been polite about it, but it's annoying, and becoming an increasingly familiar experience.

Re:

He's been fine about it and offered me my money back.

I'd been look for some fox f80rl's or Magura's, but there were none about. I always end up buying Manitous, I don't know why, I seem to be a sucker for them, they're never really that durable.
