I just want to fix these up before I tackle some nicer ones, probably going to buy some new bearings, just dust caps and screws I'm struggling to source. You'd better off with a complete, nicer set-I doubt it's worth reusing old bearing balls also. They usually go for 20-30 quid in decent nick (as they're the unloved brother of the mighty M735)-just my 2p worth of babble.
Just to complete the thread.Just regreased my DX pair - it was missing the rubber seals on the inboard side - they can be bought new from various places for a few quid - it might have been SJS that I got mine from. Just need to find a way to hold the cone still whilst tightening the outer nut.
Having seen the OE and (very) expensive Shimano too was thinking of trying a box spanner and inserting a long T-handled nut spinner down the centre of the box spanner. Or wedge a screwdriver blade in!
