Does anyone look at the mtb wanted section?

Yep... a good way to see what people have for sale if an offer is not accepted.

First time I used the wanted section I got a result via a PM for a rare(ish) item. A very kind chap pointed me to an eBay auction for a poorly listed NOS Titanium XST Flexstem.

Also... the Xizang is a pretty rare beast and no doubt will pop up, just not as readily available

Volume of original sales - Xixang = not many

amount of disposable income at the time of the xixang availability = not much

amount of disposable income today from same said potential owners of a xixang = quite a bit more than back then as this site clearly demonstrates

amount of people after a xixang now with available funds compared to early on = a hell of a lot more!

potentiality - UP

availability - DOWN

substitute a Xixang for any low volume high end bike/ component/ etc etc and you have a formula for everything

Just had this thought as I have been after a 18" gt Xizang for ages and posted and re-posted still no reply's!

Ummm.... did you seriously expect otherwise? Xizangs are rare, usually hung onto extra tightly by collectors, and worth serious money, so likely to be ebayed. "Wanted" makes most sense when someone needs something of limited interest and value and so not worth ebaying. About as far opposite from a Xizang as you can get, in fact.

Re:

I dip in and out depending if I want anything specific or is I have some decent stuff to shift that I think might be of interest.

Re:

I've found lots of parts through wanted ads, maybe if you weren't searching for rocking horse poo then you'd have more luck...

Ps. I bought an xizang as a complete bike once for £200 (with full xtr rockshox and Hadley hubs) so you never know when one will show up but mine was a once in a lifetime deal ;)
