Decent 7 speed shifter/levers suitable for v brakes??

Are there any decent retro 7 speed shifter/levers suitable for V brakes out there ?

Have some nice LX 560 but quite like something similar in looks that can run Vs

You could also use 8 speed, and set the limit screw to stop the rd at 7. That opens up many more options as V-brakes arrived around the same time as 8 speed groups.

Nice looking solid v brake levers seem impossible to find. They all seem to be stamped alluminium, rather than nicer cast levers used before.

I had the same search last year...ended up with m739 xt, but they still look a bit tin can like to me! .

Pauls or Real are nice....but so are the prices!

I'm sure I've got some decent enough ones in my parts stash somewhere - will have a look but drop me a message if I forget. LX560 STIs are particularly nice though.

For 7 speed I tend to stick to thumbies and use separate brake levers...

you could use the Alivio brifters and bolt a set of 7spd STX shifters to them

I've had a look and they're not there any more. Shimano did a V-brake compatible 7 speed STI in Acera and Alivio spec - both decent enough, IMO
