Just found the above frame with stx headset and Royce Ti bottom bracket. The frame is patchy, top tube pretty rusty but other main tubes ok and rear triangle also in ok condition. Apparently the guy was quoted £150 to clean down and repaint the frame. Bottom bracket felt rough but headset ok. Will try and get some pics up in a day or two. Oh yes looks like about a 15" frame. Anybody got a rough idea on value as is and restored?

Cheers

Mike

There is the section on the forum for questions like this. Frames In reasonable condition are going for around the £120 upwards mark, Photos would help, but my assumption is if there's a few chips and scrapes and a bit of fading and a little rust around certain areas.

Re:

It very much depends on what bike it is, if it's a Diablo, then you are looking £100 ish, if on the other hand it's a DONKIS NOB then you can probably double that, but a lot depends on condition and also whether it has forks.

£150 for a respray is around the right price, again depending on what paint. Obviously the more fancy it is, the more the cost rises.

If it is 753 it wont be diablo/diabolo.

If it needs tube replacement and then paint, budget for around the £700 mark.

D.O.N.K.I.S N.O.B (is not a MAX only tubeset) it uses mutli Material from both Reynolds and Columbus. Reynolds use of 653 not 753 from memory.(happy to stand corrected on which of the two was used for the stays though, im often at 6s and 7s...lol)

Re:

Can remember this bike bought new by a guy called Norman from my local cycling club, know he hasn't been well lately but will try to have a chat with him.
As for the original paint it was black with Dave Yates logo in a white panel. He def had a donkey's knob I'm sure this is it.
Will try and sort photos soon.

I forgot to mention no forks, he originally ran it with the gold coloured early rock shox.

That's a good indicator of date for sure, get a pic up.
