I've always loved the look of the dog bone shaped Cook Bros cranks. Never owned a pair myself, but considering getting a pair for a Slingshot build that I'm collecting parts for.

Seeing @Silverfish cranks up for sale last week (sadly too long) reignited my thoughts about getting some! 🤔

I've seen plenty of builds with them, but just wanted opinions on robustness, longevity etc. Anything to watch out for. Also I know they do CBR and RSR. I guess the CBR are more costly/desirable due to age and originality whilst the newer RSR are more likely to break due to machined back although potentially cheaper? Have zero interest in their newer E cranks...

Many thanks for reading and look forward to hearing thoughts, both good and bad. ;)

the RSR is a beautiful crank, whether you run a CBR or RSR really depends for me on the year of the build - RSR’s came later
I'd be happy with either as they look the same from side-on! The Slingshot frame is a 1993, but will be opting for some earlier components as I prefer the look of them.
