Alternatively you can buy a product akin to an abrasion resistant mac-tac, it's what they use for making decorative marble gravestones.. send the CBR image/lettering to a sign makers/t-shirt printer.. kinda place, along with a sheet of the above mentioned, they'll cut numerous CBR decals out of the sheet on the plotter. You can lay it on the crank, pick the lettering out of the template with a seam ripper and sandblast Cooks Brothers Racing with an airbrush type thingy.. the finish wouldn't be shiny but it would be neat.
You'll get numerous templates so try it on a different piece of aluminium first to make sure you're happy with the finish.. you might even find a company who can do this for little cost.. i've never looked into it.
