Cheap suspension seatpost, yes or no?

Cheap ones are just that, cheap! I've tried USE and a Thudbuster over the years, the Cane Creek was much better. Saying that I didn't miss it when I eventually got rid. I think and this is just speaking for me, that maybe I was trying to compensate for a poor fitting saddle and once that was sorted the need (or perceived need) was gone.

Post-moderne style quality sus posts were OE on midrange hybrids for a decade or so c2005-2015

- as a result we built up a boxload of (principally 27.2) sus posts where the new bike buyer wanted light weight or efficiency.

Now another 10 years has passed, they are almost sold through, where customers want more impact protection for personal or medical reasons.

They actually keep some people riding, so not all bad.

But i don't look forward to the day I fit one to my own bike🙁
