I've got a frame with a rear mech cable run along the chain stay. I'd normally wrap a neoprene protector round it, but cant in this case.

Alternatives/suggestions please.

Re:

I'd thought of something like that but the added challenge is the cable guides.

Thought about inner tube wrapped around, but a neat version of this.

Re:

Have you thought of using Spiral Cable Wrap ? this is available with a 3mm I/D and 5mm O/D
and costs about £1 for a metre

You could wrap it around an existing cable run and cover with neoprene/velcro sleeve

Some invisi tape or a cheap neoprene wrap with cut outs where the cable stops are?

Re:

I've got a neoprene chainstay protector on a bike on which the rear mech cable runs along the chainstay. It's not a problem. I just cut the protector to fit inside the cable guides and wrapped it tightly so as not to interfere with the cable. The guides run the cable at a distance from the chainstay which is greater than the thickness of the protector.

Or that housing used for aero road cable under the bar tape? Then protector.

Re:

My frame arrived with some neatly wrapped handlebar tap wound round the chainstay.....
