Chain rubbing on outer ring when in the middle ring...Help!

Re: Chain rubbing on outer ring when in the middle ring...He

Middle / outer ring fitted the right way round? Is the crank a 2 ring crank?

I used tin snips and the alu plate from around a wall vent I had in shed. Drilled first then cut to squares to fit crank.

I can send you some genuine brass ones doug, the type that come with some early 90's chainsets, slip them between the arm and the ring, 5 of.

I think they are 1.2mm or thereabouts.

Pics hard to illustrate the problem, but you can see how the pin is contacting the chain....

Mmmh. I think in middle ring, small rear sprocket some touching is ok, but the picture "ring 3" is too strange for a full
Shimano set-up, especially if all the rings are standard sizes. Just a thought, but it may
be an idea to check your frame for alignment at a LBS, and to actually see if the BB is on square rather than crooked.

Its a possible but the wheel at the rear sits centrally and the threads in the BB are clean and the BB went in with no bother...

One thought is that the drive side crank arm is close to the frame BB...maybe Sheldon is out on this one?

it's compact, not standard size, isn't it?

What BB have you got? I use 110 for M737
