Cardboard boxes for posting wheels.

I get 2x pieces of cheap 1/8" ply cut square, slightly bigger that the wheel diameter, 4x holes, sandwich wheels between.. zipties through holes, around the rims then just wrap them in thin cardboard and tape up.. hey presto! ..any impact hits the ply.

If I'm posting a piece of ply, I use 2x wheels slightly bigger than the ply, sandwiched either side, no axles, zip ties round the rims, wrap them in thin cardboard... any impact hits the wheels!😉

(I bought some ply recently, and also sold a few old wheels🤯)

I'm thinking of selling an old BC Rich guitar, it's not worth a fortune but obviously I wouldn't want it damaged in transit. No original case unfortunately, and ideas best way to ship an electric guitar?

Get a cardboard guitar box from a guitar shop - offer them a few quid.

You could make one up from a larger box... like a bike box too, but experience tells me the purpose made item is way superior.

Cheers. Every guitarist has a nightmare story about a broken/cracked neck via not giving a shit baggage handlers or postal workers. I had a Fender P Bass (1982 Japan) took a crack to the neck at the top thanks to a courier, broke my heart 😫

...don't go cheap on the courier -

those Self- employed operatives often don't give a sh1t -

the better companies employ their workers.

Additionally you can probably look up a specific guitar transport company.
Carry the charge over into the total sale price and explain why.

It's your problem right up till the new owner twanged out stairway to heaven once too often and got murdered by his neighbour.

I normally go DpD very reliable and good prices. In France we have Mondial Relais, all their drivers are sub contracted so b they don't give shit one, they're emptying 50 parcels an hour from the big store lockers.

It's a cheap service (£6 for up to 5kg) but there's a lot of stuff damaged and sod all insurance included.
