Does no-one use an oily rag anymore?

Blooming eck mate! i've not done that for years as stick to a good wax n buff up these days ..

Don't get me wrong. A wax n buff up is great on frames with good paintwork but on one with bare steel that you are not inclined to re-paint then an oily rag is just the ticket. :D

to be fair looking at the pics of this, the only paint loss is a bit on minor chain slap on the stay, and even that is mostly only chips to the top coat, so a bit of autogleam over that, sharkfin on and job done

That's what i was thinking mate .

Great find given that you've been after one so long!
Forks are ace - saw your pic of them on Instagram so I'm glad to see a whole thread on the bike here :)
Looking forward to seeing more

Re:

Yup - I am pretty stoked with this one.

More parts arrived today for the build....

stone chips are the easy ones chaps, what to do with the badly touched up areas is my real quandary - looks like Pob did them himself!

Here are some examples

Love the red Turbo so what are you going to do about the bad touch up's ? as i'm not sure if a bit of rubbing compound is worth the risk ..

Re: Another British Build! Browning Trials Unit!

Reckon I'd leave them as they are. All part of the history!

Re: Another British Build! Browning Trials Unit!

I can't argue with you on that point and tbh the more i think about it the more sense it makes ;) .

I sort of agree, not overly bothered about them.... just wish they were a little bit neater/ more care taken, but at least its prevented surface rust eh.

I do think Turbo saddles are comfy, big fan of these and the san marco rolls but these have the edge for distance comfort.
Been pottering around in the shed tonight, sneakily as so not to arouse suspicion and now two become one again - heavens forbid I didn't bid high enough for the frame, woulda been so miffed to have half a story.

XT headset fitted-

Re:

Give it a good t cut, might flatten the touch up a bit

Or give chips away a call, they could sort it, maybe!

Re:

i'd get some super-fine wet and dry, plenty soapy water, and gently rub them back.
the smaller ones will leave the touch up in the chip but remove the excess paint, the big yellow one..... well at least it would help smooth it out a little!
