Thank you all for the positive comments...I'm glad to hear you like it as much as I do.
As far as the possible crack at the rear beam mount...after a thorough cleaning I could not confirm it was any more than just a crack in the paint without breaking out the Dremel and stripping the area, so I'm taking a "wait and see approach" with crossed fingers.
The lack of the original beam and stem (as well as multiple gears) was part of the vintage trials transformation. It also helped lighten the bike substantially (now less than 20 pounds), which makes it a joy to hop around the forest.
