This has been in bits for a while, after the temporary addition of blue bits, it's now back to how it should be. Added a black headset and cable hanger, an XT HG-90 cassette and back to the rapidfire shifters.

Have you tried raising the crown of the fork, just to feel how it rides? I like this bonty: sharp and focused.

No, I haven't, I don't like the idea of not having full overlap between the crown and legs.

Couple of really small things that make me happy. XT headset and it now has the correct matching barrel adjusters in the brake levers.

Have you tried moving up the crown , leaving more of the legs, messing around w/ the head angle? Just because you can. It would change the handling. I would do it... just to see what happens.

If you look at this you will see that if I move the crown up it won't be overlapping the full fork leg on the inside. I don't think that is how it was intended or particularly safe. Moving down would probably be alright but not up.

I see 0.5 to 1cm to play with... Yours is a mag21 corrected frame, right?

It's staying as it is, full leg/crown overlap is more important to me than taking 0.4° off the head angle and raising the bb by 3mm. Which really won't be very noticeable anyway. It's absolutely fine as it is!

Added a Bontrager stem.
Will get some decals done and some sort of bung sorted over the next couple of weeks.

Went out on this yesterday, I haven't ridden it for months. I'd had thoughts about selling it. I won't! It's a lovely smooth riding bit of kit, just feels right. The XT works fantastically.
I didn't ride it more than up and down the street with the Bontrager stem, definitely prefer the position with the Salsa, so that went back on.
