Fitted some XT Thumbies and levers, nothing wrong with the rapidfire, just felt the need to change something!
I'm still using this most days and I still love it, could do with a proper good clean though

I do like thumbies for their simplicity, especially the Suntour variety
On the whole though, I really don't have a strong shifter preference, Gripshift, Thumbies, Rapidfire, quite happy with any of them, although I do have preferred versions of each design.
I think Keith would have been in the Thumbie camp though, because of their simplicity, so they feel like an appropriate choice on this. Might put the servowave levers back on though, prefer the brake feel.

Got a puncture on this a couple of months ago, just shoved it to the side and used others instead. Today I finally got round to fitting a new tube, degreased the drivetrain and gave it a little fettle.
Ready for another summer of fun, love this bike.

I'm not the biggest fan of loose ball headsets but I think it has to be done to A: complete the group and B: I think a black one will look better.

No nonsense build. Love it. This is a bike i would love to ride everyday.

We tend to focus on lightweight but when it comes to day in day out riding in all conditions, nothing beats a steel frame and fork w/ shimano xt m 730/3/5. Ergonomically perfect.

You're not wrong, the Ti-Lite is nearly 3lbs lighter than this with a Z2, does that ever cross my mind when riding? Not at all, this fits well, is a super smooth ride, just works and works well!
