big bike with useless mudguards

I'm no expert, but they look as though they're intended more to protect you against the odd charging rhino rather than spray from the road.

Mudguards like that just offend common sense.

I assume that the owners of such things think themselves 'too cool' to have real, functional mudguards on their bikes, but yet stick these things on, that look really really STUPID, and CAN'T WORK. For the love of God, even in a mild breeze they will be slashing innocent bystanders.

Judging by the setup of those mud-guards, he only rides downhill on steep slopes and on terrain that constantly bottoms out the fork. Mad skills.
