I'll post pics once I have the bike - all I have atm is the photo posted above*, and now we have the 93 "eXTRa" catalogue model info, 95%match.

I'd hope to sell it whole as I don't like breaking bikes up, but we can probably pull together an lx groupset to liberate that giant xtr cashcow

Unfortunately as a business I have to keep in the black, and in the cycle trade at the moment, you can't really afford not to maximise the margin.
We'll see.
We used to deal dawes before they ditched the galaxy - after that I didn't see the point.

Atm I've got price £120, fees £20, realistic cost of collection £60.
Minimum markup isc50% so that's £300, although there's vat to pay on the margin, so £320 for a quick sale if someone wanted to buy it as a project.

Once it's at the shop, as a bike we'd do well to sell it for £450, but it's a tiny market compared to the groupset.

I would say the groupset is worth £350, 653 fnf £200, other parts all a bit basic but heading for £600 all in all

Yeh, fair do's when you put it like that. Will still make a cool bike even with a different groupset etc!

Those top tube cable stops might have devalued the frame because they never left the factory like that.

Current low interest in quality mid 90s bikes has already done that.
Realistically in a strong market, a UK hand-made 653 fillet brazed 653 frameset built with xtr ought to be twice my estimate.

I'm looking forward to seeing if this is some unusual mod, or whether this is non standard from the factory. It looks interesting.

Totally makes sense. Coincidentally I just purchased @Matttymm Dawes Edge frame:
Fame inc. postage £75
NOS rims £70
Rigid fork approx.£130
I’ll probably need a seat post maybe £30, That’s about £320 already I think I’ve got bars, stem, saddle, tyres, bakes and levers. I’ve seen the price of vintage xtr groupsets and they are £££. I’ve decided to fit modern drivetrain 1x11. I generally prefer modern shifters and have similar set-ups on my gravel and city bikes. I also work in the trade so can buy new stuff for less than you will get for the xtr bits. I don’t even know why I’m doing this- I probably just should’ve bought yours please don’t tell me it’s a 16”.
I also fully understand I would never get back what I put into it if I did resell it . Definitely a passion project for me

On the positive side, a new deore 1x10 groupset is a bargain trade, and i'd braze disc tabs on it and fit mt200s.
That would be a killer!
