great tut ;)

at 6.35 after you've used the kitchen towel to remove excess water ... can the decal still be tweaked at this stage?

Yes, I never really wanted the sticker there, so a couple of hours later I carefully lifted it and moved it to the top of the down tube (see photo a few posts back) by the next morning it was properly adhered.

It's worth keeping somewhere where it can be referenced for years to come for future generations, that's what it's worth!
It reminded me of the old waxy tires in the oven treatment, these videos are gems.
Perhaps there is such a place to keep them & I just forget?

Cheers Graham, although I don’t think it’s that good.... perhaps I should put a link to my YouTube channel on my signature... not much on there, though it does have the tyre baking video..

Didn't get around to commenting the other day. Really straightforward guide! I'll see about getting some decals made and then muster up some Dutch courage and give it a go.

Yes, I was going to suggest doing that, I joined your channel so you have two followers now... I even watched the baking vid again...

Just to confirm - this method is ok with Gil's retrodecals?

Cheers

Yes.... :xmas-big-grin:

I applied some fairly big stickers to my scooter. It may not be a mountain bike but the principal is the same. I got a spray bottle, washed it out and put a bit of water and a splash of washing up liquid in it. I sprayed it on the paint to which it stuck, placed the sticker on and slid it to the exact position. I pressed it flat with something soft like a piece of cardboard and left it to dry. Not a wrinkle in sight and easy to get exactly where I wanted.
