Any wheel builders about - opinions on some wheel problems please?

I'm near Northampton/MK.

I did find a good spoke length calculator online so may check the spoke length when I get a few minutes.
Contact spokespeople

Based in MK and they do cytech training.

Sounds like a little professional tuition and you'll be good.

To check dishing, it's easy.
Take the tyre of to rule that out of the question.

Place wheel in frame, does it look central?
Make a marker if you want (tiewrap, sticky tape, bluetack, pencil... feducial marker to and easy to see rim point.

Take wheel out, turn around and put back in.

If wheel leans to the other side around a guestimated centre axis, dishing problem.
If wheel leans to the same side, fork problem.
If makes no sense, somethings buggered.
(double triple check by fitting a few times etc.)

(This method can be used to dish a wheel quite accurately without a tool.)

Spoke, picture from inside the rim?
If the spoke is too long you'll see it sticking out past the spoke head. Otherwise it could be too stiff to hand tighten if not using a spoke key.

Etc....

That spoke is bent, damaged and scraped, so may be stretch now. Bin it, get a new one. :)

(easier said than done.)

How does the wheel feel, make a marker since it looks all modern and no decent sacti/vbrakes to test against.
Check it for up/down instant dint wobble, and then side to side too.
