Looking for some info on the afore mentioned bike as there's not much about. Does anyone know the reason behind it being built, how many were built and why 631 instead of 853? I assume they were cheaper than the Team SL? Thanks

From what I can gtaher, the UK importer came up with the idea of a cheaper version of the Dekerf Team. It used a cheaper tube set, tigged throughout, with the addition of mounts for crud catchers etc.
Whether this was produced before the Generation, or was a version of it, I don't know.
I think it was only a couple of hundred quid cheaper than the team, so probably had limited appeal.

I think the idea was it was a cheaper and possibly heavier duty steel frame with more mud clearance, disc only and 100mm fork adjustment for the UK market. Seem to remember them coming out about 2001/ 02. ?

A friend that tested one for WMB one weekend came back wanting to exchange his IF for one saying it was the best handling hardtail he'd ever ridden.

Seem to remember Team SL's being about £895 and UK Ltd's being about £650. IIRC.

as usual i'm offshore so its not going to be landing in my hands for another 2 weeks then its straight off to get sprayed i think so will not be appearing on these hallowed pages for at least a month or so :D

That's quite a wide size range...
At 6'1" i rode 19.5"or 21" dekerfs. I did have a coiple of 18.5"ers but they were too small. I'd imagine they'd be spot on for 5'8 though.

You could ask Dekerf what the bike was about and email or Facebook might do.
Usually quite helpful to interested people.
