Depends how you define theft..
Very pleased with how the paintwork has come out. I tested it on a mate when he came round, asked him if the frameset was worth saving, he had a proper look and told me it was beyond saving and to chuck it

The only part I'm not entirely happy with is the wheels. I'd love some nutted axles but don't have any. Might go for hex bolt skewers as a compromise, I have some of those, and a bolt for the seat post. I'm not worried about theft so much as spiteful actors, who may see quick release anything as an invitation to mischief without profit.Cammo has come out superbly. Are you keeping it quick release?
I’m thinking solid axles with nuts, and a bolt on seatpost; and no expensive U locks to draw attention : a 1980s chain-in-a-plastic-sleeve-combination-lock draped between the top tube and lampost would set it off a treat.
That may be veering into desirability. How about a big knobbler up front and a narrower slick on the back, one gumball, or even red?
Yep, wheels need work, and that includes tyre choice. The gator skins are perfect for the commute, but I may set up a more discordant wheelset for rides where the bike will left in the wild. How about a big knobbler up front and a narrower slick on the back, one gumball, or even red?
We use to have wheels hanging up in the office for when folks needed one after a theft.
Like you, I’m going for a nice frame (KHS Pro) and good bearings made to look a shitter. (Though not with your paint skill, level) Hex bolt skewers are a great idea (especially if not shiny) Luckily I’ve got some 80s nutted wheels; putting a shit lock on and walking away is the moment of truth. The only part I'm not entirely happy with is the wheels. Lock wise, the Abus stays at work anyway, but for when I'm leaving the bike in town I'd love to get a traditional combination chain lock as well.
Have you got any idea about what frame you'll be using yet?
