I'm going to age the cable outers with solvent and sand paper. Isopropyl is good for messing up dyed surfaces and will rough most saddles up.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, I want the experience of riding it to be as pleasurable as possible, as grips are the one part of the bike my body will be in direct contact with I'll probably just go with one of the scruffy well worn pairs I've got, and not mess too much with them.
